Job Summary:
The Real Estate Paralegal will provide essential support to attorneys in all aspects of real estate transactions and related legal matters. The successful candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of real estate laws and regulations. The Real Estate Paralegal will be responsible for conducting legal research, preparing and reviewing legal documents, coordinating closings, and assisting with various administrative tasks within the real estate department.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough legal research and gather relevant information related to real estate laws, regulations, and procedures.
2. Assist attorneys in drafting, reviewing, and revising real estate documents, such as contracts, agreements, leases, and deeds.
3. Manage and maintain accurate documentation and records of real estate transactions and client information.
4. Coordinate and facilitate real estate closings, including preparation of closing documents, scheduling appointments, and communicating with clients, lenders, and other parties involved.
5. Review title commitments, surveys, and other pertinent documents to identify potential issues or discrepancies.
6. Assist in the preparation and filing of real estate documents with appropriate government agencies, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
7. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as clients, real estate agents, lenders, and title companies, to gather necessary information and resolve any issues that may arise during the transaction process.
8. Provide administrative support by managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date files.
9. Stay updated on changes in real estate laws, regulations, and industry practices to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice and guidance to attorneys and clients.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by attorneys or department managers.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
2. Proven experience as a Real Estate Paralegal or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department.
3. Thorough knowledge and understanding of real estate laws, regulations, and procedures.
4. Proficient in conducting legal research using various online and print resources.
5. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft and proofread legal documents.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
8. Proficient in using relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems.
9. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
10. Professional demeanor, confidentiality, and strong ethical conduct.
11. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
